Indian Hockey

Indian Hockey has witnessed two big scandals which have surprised and shocked one and all associated with the sport. Reportedly, an Indian Hockey support staff member has been accused of “sexual misconduct” while on tour. On the other hand M. K. Kaushik who happens to be the coach of Indian Hockey Women’s team have refused to fly for the Asia Cup following a player’s complain.

Indian Hockey is already in muddy waters owing to several controversies and the sex scandal shall flame it up even more. The Sports Authority Of India official was spotted in compromising position with call girls in the month of March when the team toured China. Chief Coach M.K Kaushik is said to have asked team members for “sexual favors”. The sports authority officials refused to mention the name of the player who had lodged a complaint against the Indian Hockey coach.

Speaking on the issue was Secretary-General of Indian Hockey Narinder Batra who told the media that these allegations have done disaster to Indian Hockey and firm action will be taken against the guilty. He also thanked the Indian Hockey player who had taken the initiative to bring this matter to their attention.M.K Kaushik who happens to be an Olympic gold medalist has been one of the longest serving coaches for Indian Hockey team. After he was accused, he separated himself from the team and informed the officials that he shall prove his innocence and then join the team. Indian Hockey Board has called for a four-member committee who shall deal with the investigation procedure on this case.
